Finally starting Season Three of one of my favorite TV shows in recent history, Mozart in the Jungle. Funny, charming, well-written, well-acted, and, somehow, makes classical music seem cool. Which it should be. Which it is.
This show also introduced me to an exciting piece I’d never heard before, Danzon No. 2 by Arturo Marquez. Here’s a video of the piece directed by Gustav Dudamel, who Bernal’s character in Mozart is apparently based on:
